The Start
My brother and I were watching UFC one day, and in between the long intros of the fighters which usually takes around 30 minutes, we decided to go out back of the house where I have my own disc golf portable basket. I had 12 discs at the time and my brother had 8, so we made a game out of who could make it in the basket more times, we would use each other’s discs and even traded each other discs because we found out we like the other persons more. So, the game would progress, and we would start at 10 feet, move back to 15 feet and so on and so forth until we ran out of room. A few weeks later we went to top golf and thought, wow we could do this with disc golf. That is when we decided that we should start our own business providing a service like no other, and decided to use my last name (Moore) as a play on words for this business that we were about to create.
What sets us apart?
We are one of 19 disc golf stores in America, but we are the only one that has the experience like no other. We provide the throwing stations that allow you to “test drive” every disc you lay your eyes on. It also allows you to throw as many discs as you’d like without the hassle of going to retrieve them yourself.
About us
So, me and my brother have been playing disc golf for over 8 years together and in the last 4 years, we’ve taken it really seriously. First of all we go out there to have fun and be in nature, but it does get pretty competitive at times because we are practically the same skill level. We play at least 3 times a week before work or after work depending on our schedules and have really learned how to appreciate the game. Now we quit our jobs to pursue our dream of helping the disc golf community out and having more people get into the game!
Shawn Moore, Founder
Shawn is a D2 college wrestler who is seeking a degree in Business Management, Marketing and minoring in digital media. Shawn loves to be outside and always has to be doing something! The reason why he chose to play disc golf in the first place was because one day on a hike he found a disc, and days later found out that his brother knew of this game and from there, they could never stop playing. “I find the game so relaxing and so much fun! I never seem to want to leave the woods and could find myself out there for hours on end playing the course over and over again until the sun goes down.”
Colton Speece, co-founder
Colton is a retired highschool football player who battled with a lot of injuries throughout his career and was not able to make it to a college team from that. Colton also loves being outdoors and if you ever need him, that is the first place that you should check. Colton started to play this game with a couple of his friends in highschool as an excuse to be outside and to have a good time.
